Austin Powers 4 and musical in works?

Mike Myers could be returning as his eccentric alter ego, Austin Powers, in a fourth film, with plans for a musical based on the character in the works as well. The International Man Of Mystery is heading for Broadway.

The 48 year-old actor has reportedly signed on to write and star in the next installment of the international man of mystery, with a release date in either 2013 or early 2014. The fourth film will come a decade after the most recent film, and 15 years after the first, which was released in 1997.

Sources close to the star say he is in talks to bring the character to the stage in a musical. He is believed to be writing the story, but won’t star in the production.Gaga For Austin Powers

The Powers franchise has taken a huge earning at the box office in its three previous offerings. Liz Hurley, Heather Graham and Beyoncé previously played lead actress roles, while John Travolta, Tom Cruise and Gwyneth Paltrow made cameo appearances in the most recent film, ‘Goldmember’.

In the next installment it’s rumored that  none other than, Lady Gaga will be appearing for a cameo for the next Powers film.

Myers suffered a setback when he starred in ‘The Love Guru’ in 2008, which was panned by critics worldwide. Though he has found continued success in the universally-loved Shrek films as the voice of the ogre.

Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery was a surprise hit when it was released in 1997, taking in more than $67 million globally at the box office.

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ trailer: Check this out

Posted on by admin Posted in Movies | Leave a comment

Does Christopher Nolan’s final Bat-flick have more on its mind than just thrilling fanboys and filmgoers with sensational summertime escapism? You might wonder after taking a look at the latest official trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, which made its debut in theaters this past weekend with Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadowsand hit the Web today.

The preview sketches the film’s themes and conflict without ever spelling out the plot. SPOILER ALERT! The trailer begins with a boy launching into the national anthem at a football game. It’s a flourish that signals the beginning of a high-stakes game — and a drama about the current state of the union. As “The Star Spangled Banner” plays, we hear some dialogue about replacing Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) — he’s a “war hero” in a time of peace. And in perhaps the trailer’s most loaded moment (not counting the various beats of gunplay), we see Anne Hathaway’s Selina Kyle — a.k.a. Catwoman — hissing a line into the ear of fat-cat playboy Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) that suggests she’s been spending time with the unhappy campers at Occupy: Gotham City. “You think this is going to last. There’s a storm coming, Mr. Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches because when it hits, you’re all going to wonder how you ever thought how you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.” As we hear this line, we see the sacking of an opulent home, and we get a lot of ominous imagery involving Thomas Hardy’s fearsome Bane and a small army of goons laying siege to Batman’s hometown. “When Gotham is in ashes,” Bane growls to an incapacitated Bruce, “you have my permission to die.”

Additionally, there’s a jailbreak, a car chase, and some truly explosive gridiron action. The trailer isn’t all bombast and murk. The most affecting beat involves Bruce’s aged butler/mentor/surrogate parent Alfred (Michael Caine) saying, rather emotionally: “You are as precious to me as you were to your mother and father. I swore to them that I would protect you — and I haven’t.” Among many burning questions inspired by a trailer that gives you a lot of menace and mood and actually very little Batman: Are Catwoman and Bane revolutionaries motivated by ideology — or cynical rogues exploiting a volatile moment for pumped-up kicks and personal profit?

With this trailer and the prologue that was also released this past weekend, Team Nolan has made it clear that The Dark Knight Rises won’t be going gently into the good night of franchise retirement-rebootment. But are you intrigued or alienated by the prospect of a potentially politically charged superhero epic, one that arrives July 20 — about a month ahead of the Republican and Democratic national conventions? Check out the trailer, then share your opinions and interpretations below.

Here’s The New Poster For ‘Titanic 3D’

Posted on by admin Posted in Movies, News | Leave a comment

Yes, this is a real thing that is actually happening.

For anyone who seriously doubted that James Cameron would risk his considerable artistic reputation by crassly converting his seminal “Titanic” into 3D, here’s your definitive proof.James Cameron - Titanic 3D

Paramount has released the attached poster, which triumphantly heralds the remastered film’s April 6, 2012 release. (Coincidentally—or not—that date will also mark the centennial of the Titanic’s fateful maiden voyage.)
While the poster’s debut will likely quell any lingering skepticism over the project’s existence, several compelling questions remain. Will Cameron have succumbed to any George Lucas-like temptation to tamper with the film, perhaps re-rendering its CGI to improve decades-old FX shots? Will the re-release earn the requisite $160+ million it needs to recapture the title of “most successful movie ever” from Cameron’s own “Avatar?” (Domestically speaking, that is. It would need to earn closer to $1 billion worldwide to take back the overall crown. Which isn’t very likely.) Will Kate and Leo’s fiery chemistry be just as resplendent in 3D as it was in 2D back in 1997? And how much will the conversion process improve the film’s most striking sequences?

American Pie w/ORIGINAL CAST! “American Reunion” (2012)

Posted on by admin Posted in Entertainment, Mens Room, Movies, MRM | 1 Comment

Last I knew, they were just running “American Pie” themed movies into the ground there for a while, with a few cameos from the original cast, which were mostly lame. I honestly didn’t even count them in my DVD collection, haven’t even seen them, yet…

So, I read: “American Reunion (2012)” and I had a double take to make sure it was a legit movie.  Let me get this right,  a new American Pie movie with the ORIGINAL cast? I’m all in, can’t wait! The trailer looks great (see below), and there are more out as well, so Google it.

Sacha Baron Cohen on board for Django Unchained

Posted on by admin Posted in Mens Room, Movies, MRM | Leave a comment

Sacha Baron Cohen is in final negotiations to take a small but pivotal role in Quentin Tarantino‘s next film, Django Unchained, reports Variety. He looks set to play a gambler who buys Django’s enslaved wife, Broomhilda.

Tarantino’s film stars Jamie Foxx in the title role of an escaped slave who becomes a bounty hunter and returns to the plantation where he once lived in order to free his wife. The movie is a paean to spaghetti westerns, though set in the deep south rather than the old west, with the title referencing the 1966 Sergio Corbucci film Django.

The movie is set in the American South of the 1800’s and follows a freed slave (Foxx) who partners with a German bounty hunter, played by Christoph Waltz, in order to find his wife, who has been captured by a Francophile plantation owner, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Django Unchained

Variety suggests the role of the gambler, Scotty, is an important one and Tarantino has spent some time and effort to secure the right actor. If he signs on the dotted line, Baron Cohen will be one of the final cast members to do so. Django Unchained also features Leonardo DiCaprio as the villain of the piece, plantation owner Calvin Candie, who runs a sadistic brothel named Candyland where slaves are forced into sex work. Christoph Waltz stars as an Austrian bounty hunter who teaches Django his trade and Samuel L Jackson is a wise, proud house slave named Stephen; while Kerry Washington (Broomhilda), Kurt Russell and Dennis Christopher are also on board. Original cast member Kevin Coster was forced to quit the film earlier this year due to “scheduling conflicts”.

Django Unchained will shoot early next year for a December 2012 release date.
